The hills of Tavarushi, Trojza and Koloc have been covered in vineyards, giving Tregtani in Has the appearance of a miniature Tuscany. It began as a desire of Skënder Bokçi to set up a farm, but it soon turned into a significant viticultural investment, completing the grape processing and wine production cycles within this farm.
“This year's Cabernet arrived two weeks later due to weather conditions.”, u shpreh Bokçiu.
Cabernet, the largest part of the vineyard, is a variety used only for wine production.
“This is the Italian grape that is mainly used for wine.", said the farmer.
The plantations were planted at different times, some four years and some eight. The agronomist says that they have been producing since the second year of each plot.
They started with an area of 2 hectares, and today they have expanded it to 7.5 hectares or more.
“We started with 2 hectares and today we have 7.5 hectares and we are expanding by the day.", he said.
When it comes to vineyard management and services, like any sector, it has its own difficulties, most notably the lack of labor. The agronomist says that over 10 workers are brought in from Kukës every day.
The work on the farm is chained together to complete the cycle. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the winery where the selection, pressing, and filling of tanks for storage and fermentation begin.
